Jesenia concentrates her practice on commercial, business, and intellectual property litigation and counseling. She has extensive experience in business litigation, including securities, business torts, contracts, bankruptcy, insurance, patent infringement, and employment law.
Jesenia's experience includes her work for several years as a litigation associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
Jesenia has also devoted a significant amount of her time to work on pro bono matters concerning immigration, anti-discrimination, and criminal law. During her career, she has obtained asylum for ten individuals and worked with the Innocence Project to submit an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in a highly publicized criminal matter.
Representative Matters
- Currently handling insurance coverage matters for company facing thousands of claims arising from largest oil spill in U.S. history.
- Currently representing senior executives in a multi-million dollar dispute related to their compensation.
- Prosecuted $30 million patent infringement claims against major telecommunications companies.
- Prosecuted $40 million breach of contract and fiduciary duty claims on behalf of a publically traded company against a former executive.
- Successfully defended a Fortune 500 company at trial regarding a $17 million claim that it breached the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
- Assisted in bankruptcy matter recognized as a "Restructuring Deal of the Year" by the International Financial Law Review in 2012.
- Represented the Audit Committee of the City of San Diego in an investigation of issues related to the integrity of the City's pension system and financial reporting.

- 2009 Jeremy G. Epstein Award from the City Bar Justice Center for successfully obtaining asylum for two clients following trial.
