Overview

Matthew guides both individual and business clients through federal, state, and local tax issues. He makes that which is complex – the tax efficient transfers of business and personal assets, structuring of estates and business enterprises and acquisition and disposition of operating companies – understandable, manageable, and most importantly, achievable.

Matthew structures and provides tax counsel with respect to business ventures and corporate entities, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, domestic and international investments, and private equity and hedge funds. He provides innovative solutions to maximize tax efficiency in the face of ever-evolving tax legislation.

For individuals and families, Matthew develops sophisticated estate plans, trusts, and wills that reduce tax burdens and minimize future exposure. Clients rely on his experienced counsel and practical insight on planning investments, charitable gifts, and other gift and estate tax matters to simplify the complicated decisions facing them, their families, and their heirs.

Currently, Matthew is working with a number of clients to help them prepare for a possible early reduction of the current estate tax exemption, scheduled for the end of 2025 but which could possibly be implemented much sooner.

Happy married and a father of three, Matthew recently wrote and hosted a trivia game for his extended family during quarantine.
